Duffy's success spanned across all three seasons for a collegiate runner – from cross country to indoor track to outdoor track. He was a two-time All-American at AU, finishing eighth in the distance medley relay at NCAA Indoor Nationals in 2003 and earned an individual designation with a third-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Nationals in 2005. He followed that third-place performance with a top-10 finish at the USA Championships, crossing in eighth for the 1500-meter run. Duffy was part of 17 Patriot League championships, including nine individual titles. He was an 11-time All-Patriot League honoree and posted marks in six events that still rank among AU's top-10.
Duffy received his bachelor's degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2005.
