A member of the 1985 NCAA Finals team, Nakhid made a place for himself amongst the all time greats at AU. He is still in the top-10 all time for both assists and points at American.

Nakhid earned several distinctions while at AU including being named to the CAA first team in both ’85 and ’86. He was also included to the All South-Atlantic Region Team ('86), and was Offensive MVP of Clemson-Umbra Tournament ('85), All-Tournament Team Clemson-Umbra Tournament ('86) and All-Tournament Team McDonald's Classic ('86).

Following his career as an Eagle, Nakhid went on to play professionally in over a half a dozen countries around the world including a stint with the New England Revolution. He played internationally for Trinidad and Tobago earning 35 caps and scoring 8 goals. During this period, he served as captain for his country.

Nakhid remains an active part of the soccer community and ran for FIFA President in 2015.

Nakhid received his bachelor's degree from the School of International Service in 1987.
