Weiss graduated as AU's all-time leading scorer and broke the team's single-season freshman scoring mark of 404 points. He was named to the All-Mason Dixon Conference team three times and was honorable mention All-District of Columbia and MD All-Tournament in 1955 and 1958.

He set recrods for best socring average and most field goals in a season.

During his senior year, he guided the Eagles to a 22-6 record, the second best in school history, and to the 1958 NCAA East Regionals and a Mason-Dixon championship title.

He also competed in track and cross country in his time at AU. 

Following graduation, Weiss returned to coach the freshman team and was a member of the university's President Circle.

Weiss received his bachelor's degree from the College of Arts and Sciences in 1958 and his JD from the Washington College of Law in 1961.
