Andre Ingram became American University's second-ever NBA player when he played with the Los Angeles Lakers in June, 2018. His call-up at the age of 32 commanded plenty of national media attention.

Ingram started in all 31 games as a freshman, leading the Eagles with 13.6 points per game (fifth-best in the league) and earning Patriot League Freshman of the Year honors. He was the first in program history to win that award. In his sophomore year, Ingram was the PL's second-leading scorer with 15.3 points per game and was named First Team All-Patriot League. He scored his 1,000th career point as a junior and earned Second Team All-PL honors. In his senior year, Ingram ranked fifth in the league with 15.2 points per game, second in three-point field goal percentage (.424) and second in three-point field goals made per game (2.6). He scored 20 or more points eight times, including a season-high 25 points against Lafayette. He subsequently earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for the second time.

Ingram finished his collegiate career as American's fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,655 points. He graduated from American University with a bachelor’s degree in physics from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2007.
