One of only five Eagles to ever be named a First Team All-American, Schickhardt helped lead AU field hockey to four straight Patriot League regular season titles, tournament championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. She was a two-time All-American, earning third team honors in 2006 before elevating herself to a first team selection in 2008. From 2006-08, Schickhardt was named to both the Patriot League First Team and All-Region First Team. In 2008, she was named both the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. As a freshman in 2005, she earned PL Rookie of the Year honors and was named to the PL Second Team as well as the All-Region Second Team.

Schickhardt never lost a league game, going 20-0 with a 63-22 overall record. She ranks second at AU in career scoring with 50 goals and 42 assists for 142 total points, and is a member of the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team.

Schickhardt earned her bachelor's in economics from AU's College of Arts and Sciences and international relations from the School of International Service, and minored in mathematics.
