Men’s track student-athlete Craig Brown has been selected as the American University Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO. Brown led American’s men’s track team as they won two events at the Coastal Carolina Invitational over the weekend. 

Brown won the men’s 3000 meter run, and was the first of seven American runners in the top ten. He completed the race in 8:29.39, edging out teammate Jeff Brannigan by a second. The sophomore’s finishing time is the sixth fastest in school history, and eclipses the previous record of 8:36.17 by nearly seven full seconds.

The Eagles will return to the track Saturday, March 27, at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Md.
