Men's basketball student-athlete Vlad
Moldoveanu has been selected as the American
University Student Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO,
Department of Athletics officials announced.
Moldoveanu led the Eagles with 19 points and 13 rebounds in
Wednesday's overtime loss at Bucknell. This marked the second
consecutive game that Moldoveanu earned a double-double. The junior
followed up Wednesday's strong performance with 16 points and seven
rebounds in AU's 73-63 victory against Colgate on Sunday.
Sunday's victory against Colgate marked the fifth straight game
in which Moldoveanu notched at least 15 points. He is averaging
18.1 ppg while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 42.6
percent from three-point range.
Moldoveanu and the Eagles hit the floor again on Wednesday,
January 20 as they travel to West Point, N.Y. to take on
conference-opponent Army. Tip time is set for 7:00 p.m.
