Michelle
Kirk of the women's basketball team has been named the
American University Student Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO,
Department of Athletics officials announced Monday. Kirk led the
Eagles to a victory in their season opener on Friday at cross-town
rival Howard, 71-59.
Kirk, a Preseason All-Patriot League selection, led both teams
in scoring on Friday night as she recorded 25 points on 10-of-20
shooting. The junior's total was just two points shy of her
career-high of 27 which she set last season against Navy. Kirk also
added seven rebounds and three assists in the win.
The women's basketball team will return to action this evening
at 7:00 p.m. at Princeton. The game will be webstreamed on GoPrincetonTigers.tv for subscribers,
although free audio and live stats will also be available.
