WASHINGTON – The American University cross country team is returning to Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh on Friday, October 3. This meet will be an opportunity for the Eagles to preview the course where both the Patriot League Championships (Oct. 31) and the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional (Nov. 14) will take place later this season.
Lehigh's Goodman Campus Cross Country Course is the site of the Patriot League Cross Country Championships roughly every four years, while it hosts the Mid-Atlantic Regional every other year. The team will face several Patriot League competitors in the Brown Races in the afternoon, while some Eagles will compete in the open races in the morning.

The Eagles are coming off three weeks of solid training after the Penn State Spiked Shoe Invitational (Sep. 12), where the men's team took 5th place and the women placed 8th. On the men's side, the senior trio of
Cooper Michaud,
Carver Morgan, and
Kaden Kluth led the squad, finishing within five seconds of each other in the 5.2-mile race. Sophomores
Noah Smith and
Zack Zerbe continued their contributing streak to complete the Eagles' top five.
On the women's side,
Shealyn Brochu was the team's low-stick in 15th — her time of 21:23.2 was the third-fastest 6k ever for AU and earned her a
Patriot League honorable mention.
Lydia Drago,
Zoe Rector, and
Kara Langbaum followed, all running personal bests.
Estella Miller completed the women's scoring.
