WASHINGTON – The Eagles are stepping into the postseason this weekend at the Patriot League Championships (May 15-16). The championships will be hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md., with events starting at 9 a.m. on Friday (May 15).
PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS MEET INFORMATION
The women's distance program will start the weekend early Friday morning (May 15), with freshman
Emma Colavito and senior
Annie Ripol in the 10k at 9:45 a.m. Ripol ran a fifth all-time mark of 37:00.78 in her debut at the Virginia Challenge (Apr. 17), while Colavito will debut the event. The next event for women's distance will be the 1500 meter prelim at 1:20 p.m.; senior
Kate Riley, junior
Scarlett Lestina, sophomore
Kara Langbaum, and freshmen
Shealyn Brochu and
Georgina Chalow will compete in the event. Brochu leads the Eagles in the 1500 with a PR of 4:29.75 at the Kehoe Twilight Meet (May 1). The women's 4x800 will also take place on Friday, ending off day one at 5:15 p.m.
On Saturday (May 16), for those who qualify, the finals for the 1500 will take place at 1:15 p.m. Five Eagles — Ripol, Colavito, Lestina, junior
Estella Miller, and sophomore
Zoe Rector — will race the 5k final at 3:55 p.m. Colavito (17:47.92), Rector (17:48.12), and Ripol (18:00.57) have all run PRs in the event this season.
The men's distance squad will begin the weekend with the men's 1500 meter prelim on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Five Eagles will compete in the event: senior
Kaden Kluth, sophomores
Ty Parker and
Zack Zerbe, and freshmen
Emmett Engelhardt and Charlie Lovett. All five have run significant PRs this season, led by Kluth's PR of 3:39.43 from the Virginia Challenge, which ranks second in the conference. Following the 1500, senior

Papakojo Danquah and
Barak Goldstein, and freshman
Daden Grogan will race the men's 800 prelim at 3:10 p.m. All four have run PRs in the 800 this season, led by Morgan's league-topping PR of 1:47.06. The men's squad will also field a 4x800 relay at 5:00 p.m.
On Saturday, senior
Cooper Michaud will begin the day with the men's steeplechase final at 12:05 p.m. His PR of 9:04.54 from the Kehoe Twilight Meet ranks ninth in the conference. For those who qualify, the 1500 finals will take place at 1:05 p.m. and the 800 finals will be at 2:37 p.m. Three Eagles — Michaud, Zerbe, and sophomore
Noah Smith — will race the 5k final at 3:35 p.m.
For the women's sprints, the weekend will begin on Friday with sophomores
Lara Gin and
Zoe Clark in the 400 meters at 2:25 p.m. Their PRs of 56.73 and 57.05 rank second and third in program history. Junior
Adeline DiPaolo, sophomore
Tamara Dorval, and freshman
Lilia Jones will race the 100 meter semifinal at 2:55 p.m. Dorval (11.86) and Jones (12.18) hold the top two times in program history in the event. Clark will double in the 200 meter prelim at 4:45 p.m. On Saturday, the squad will field a 4x100 relay at 12:58 p.m. For those who qualify, the 400 meter final takes place at 1:40 p.m., followed by the 100 final at 1:50 p.m. and the 200 final at 3:30 p.m.
The men's sprints will begin on Friday with freshmen
Gregory Celariste and
Alex Zenit in the 400 meter prelim at 2:10 p.m. Celariste sits at sixth AU all-time with his open PR of 48.99 seconds, and split 47.96 seconds in the DMR at the Penn Relays (Apr. 24). Junior
Jason Omari-Anim will race the 100 meter semifinal at 2:40 p.m.; he'll double in the 200 prelim along with Celariste at 4:30 p.m. The men's 4x100 will start Saturday's sprint races off at 12:50 p.m.; the squad of
Emilio Hooper, Zenit, Omari-Anim, and Celariste broke AU's 60-year-old program record in 42.03 seconds at the Kehoe Twilight Meet. For those who qualify, the 400 meter final will take place at 1:35 p.m., followed by the 100 final at 1:45 p.m. and the 200 final at 3:15 p.m. The men's team will field a 4x400 relay to close out the championship for AU at 4:20 p.m.
