COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The men's sprints squad of
Emilio Hooper,
Alex Zenit,
Jason Omari-Anim, and
Gregory Celariste ran 42.03 seconds to break a 60-year old program record at the Kehoe Twilight Meet at the University of Maryland on Friday (May 1). Their time broke the previous record by just a hundredth of a second.
- Senior Cooper Michaud ran an eight-second PR of 9:04.54 in the steeplechase in close to a solo effort. His new PR ranks ninth in the Patriot League and moves up his third all-time mark for AU.
- In the men's 800, senior Carver Morgan placed third in 1:47.41, just off his PR. Sophomore Ty Parker won his heat in 1:54.71, just off his PR.
- Freshman Shealyn Brochu led the women in the 1500 meters in fourth with a PR of 4:29.75, dipping under 4:30 for the first time and improving her fifth all-time mark. Alongside Brochu, three more women ran personal bests — sophomore Kara Langbaum ran 4:39.95m, running under 4:40 for the first time; freshman Charlotte Orr ran a three-second PR of 4:41.30; and junior Scarlett Lestina knocked six seconds off her PR with a run of 4:50.48. Senior Kate Riley also ran a strong performance of 4:39.85, just off her personal best.
- Freshman Emmett Engelhardt led the Eagles in the men's 1500 with a two-second PR of 3:50.43. He was followed by sophomore Zack Zerbe in 3:51.07, just off his PR. Freshman Charlie Lovett also earned a three-second PR of 3:54.91.
- Freshman Gregory Celariste, returning from anchoring AU's 4x100 record, ran a lifetime best and fifth all-time mark of 22.00 in the 200 meters.
- In the women's 3k, two Eagles landed on the all-time list: Freshman Emma Colavito (8th, 10:15.96) and sophomore Zoe Rector (10th, 10:20.05). Senior Annie Ripol (10:20.29) knocked 13 seconds off her PR set in the indoor season.

Coaches' Corner
"The team had a very successful last regular season meet at Maryland this weekend," said head coach
Sean Graham. "This is the first year that the Patriot League Championships are moved later into May, in line with the majority of other conferences, and this gave us a great opportunity to compete hard one last time before we dial into our preparation for the championship."
"
Cooper Michaud kicked the evening off with a phenomenal race in the men's steeple — with only one other competitor racing, he led from the first step and soloed an eight-second PR! Immediately after that, the men's 4x100 of Emilio, Alex, Jason and Greg, broke a 60-year-old school record.
"Following that we had a great evening of 1500s. Shealyn had another PR, now down to 4:29 and improving on her fifth all-time mark.
Kate Riley was right at her PR. Kara, Charlotte, and Scarlett ran great aggressive races, all resulting in PRs! On the men's side, Emmett, Zack, and Charlie had similarly aggressive strategies with two coming away with nice PRs as well.
"Greg had a very nice 200, locking in fifth all-time. Finally in the 3ks, Emma and Zoe, put themselves in the top 10, with Annie notching a nice PR down to 10:20. On the men's side Jaden and Noah had a solid race, just missing the win at the tape going 2-3, and Jack came away with a nice PR and his first time under nine minutes."
"Again, a great way to close out the regular season as we now move towards preparing for Patriot League Championships in two weeks."
