Coaches' Corner
"We had a good few days of racing this weekend at UVA and Hopkins," said head coach Sean Graham. "This was the first time we were challenged a bit by the conditions, and I think we did pretty well in the way we attacked the races.

"There were a few standout performances that really highlighted the weekend. Right off the bat on Friday in the women's 100, both Ciera Thacker and Tamara Dorval had very good days, Ciera lowering her PR to 12.39 and number two all-time at AU, followed quickly by Tamara in a later heat just missing breaking the 12-second barrier and setting a new school record and PR of 12.00. Lara Gin had an excellent day in the 400, running a huge outdoor PR and placing her third all-time at AU. In the 1500, the mid-distance women came away with a handful of PRs in challenging afternoon wind with Kirah and Kara both racing to 4:46's with strong closes. Finally, in the 5000m we had some very strong performances by Bryn Underwood and Sophia Staiger dipping under 18:00.

On the men's side, Jaden Frederick came away with a nice PR in the 5000 down to 14:54. The highlight of the weekend came from Kaden and Carver in the 1500 and 800 Invitational sections.  Kaden with a very strong close racing to the line for a third place finish, second all-time at AU and big PR of 3:40.31. Carver in the men's 800 navigated a packed field for fourth in his heat, also second all-time at AU and PR of 1:48.27. Both men are working to solidify their positioning for NCAA qualifying positions in those events."
