Track and Field Competes at Swarthmore Last Chance Meet

The American University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet on Saturday with three Eagles placing in the top five of the 5,000 meter run.

Jeff Brannigan took second in the 5,000 with a time of 14:26.11 with Colin Eustis following in third place in 14:28.09. Craig Brown, meanwhile, came in fifth place with a time of 14:30.25.

Conor Sullivan and Alex Hula ran in the 800 meter run, posting times of 1:52.58 and 1:53.26, respectively. Sullivan's time was just slower than his personal record of 1:52.43 in the event which stands as the eighth fastest time in program history.

Alexandra Tyburski also nearly set a personal record Saturday with a time of 4:41.10 in the 1,500 meter run. Tyburski's PR in the event currently stands at 4:38.91 and is the ninth best time in the school record book.
