WASHINGTON – Indoor track will return to George Mason on Friday (Feb. 20) to compete at the Father Diamond Invitational. It'll be the last regular season meet for the Eagles before they travel to Boston for the Patriot League Championships (Feb. 28-Mar. 1). The action will start with the 60 meters at 2 p.m.
The squad saw success at both Boston University and Liberty University last weekend (Feb. 13-14).
Carver Morgan and
Kaden Kluth both broke their own program records, Morgan with a one-second personal best of 1:47.83 in the 800 and Kluth with a PR of 4:00.31 in the mile. Two more Eagles improved their own top-five marks for AU:
Shealyn Brochu with a PR of 4:49.62 in the mile and
Lara Gin with a PR of 57.77 seconds in the 400.

In the women's sprints, most of the squad will double on Friday. Top-two all-time performers
Tamara Dorval and
Lilia Jones, will race the 60 meters to start the weekend, as well as senior
Chloee Dotts and junior
Ciera Thacker. Juniors
Adeline DiPaolo and
Hannah Puckett and sophomore
Lara Gin will compete in the 400 meters. Dotts, Jones, and Thacker will join top-two AU performers
Lorelei Bangit and
Zoe Clark in the 200.
For men's sprints, junior Jasson Omari-Anim and freshmen
Gregory Celariste and
James Soergel will race the 60 meters. Celariste will double in the 400, and senior
Owen Garrett will race the 500. Garrett and Omari-Anim will also compete in the 200. Some sprinters will double back for the 4x400 relay at the end of the day.
On the women's distance side, junior
Scarlett Lestina will compete in the 800 meters. Senior
Kate Riley, sophomore
Kara Langbaum, and freshman and
Charlotte Orr will compete in the 600 meters. Seniors
Hannah Schwab and
Skyler Tatum, sophomore
Lydia Drago, and freshman
Lydia Drago will race the 3k.
On the men's distance side, senior
Cooper Michaud and sophomores
Jaden Frederick,
Daniel Messer, and
Noah Smith will race the mile. Sophomores

Emmett Engelhardt, will compete in the 800 meters. Sophomores

Jack Chandler will compete in the 3k.
In addition to the Father Diamond Invitational, seniors
Carver Morgan and
Kaden Kluth will return to Boston on Sunday (Feb. 22) for the Saucony Battle for Boston, aiming to run qualifying times for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Morgan will compete in the 800 meters, which starts at 6:50 p.m., and Kluth will compete in the mile, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
BATTLE FOR BOSTON MEET INFORMATION
Both Morgan (800) and Kluth (1500) qualified for the NCAA East First Round in Jacksonville, Fla., last spring after earning Patriot League titles in their respective events. They were the first Eagles to compete at the NCAA First Round since 2019.
