Two women and two men will compete in their first 5k of the season on Friday evening. Freshman
Emma Colavito, a regular scorer in cross country, will open her season, and sophomore
Fiona Murphy will step up in distance after racing the 3k at Penn State a couple of weeks ago. On the men's side, sophomore
Jaden Frederick and senior
Cooper Michaud will both step up in distance after opening in a 3k at Penn State.
A group of Eagles will race their second 3k of the season, including senior
Annie Ripol, who led the women in the unseeded 3k at Penn State with a new personal best. On the men's side, sophomore
Noah Smith, the reigning champ from last year's Patriot Games 3k, will race his first 3k of the season.
Half of the men's middle distance crew, including new program record-holders
Kaden Kluth (1k) and
Carver Morgan (800), will step up to race a competitive mile, where they'll look to further disrupt the record books. Freshman
Shealyn Brochu, who ran a fifth all-time performance in the mile at Penn State, will headline the middle-distance group racing the 800.
The short sprints will mostly compete in the same events as their opener, with the program's top two 60-meter performers,
Tamara Dorval and
Lilia Jones, headlining the women's 60 meters. On the men's side,
Jason Omari-Anim, who opened his season just .01 seconds off his fourth AU all-time 60-meter PR, will attempt to move up in the record books this weekend. The men's and women's long sprints squads, including record-holder
Lorelei Bangit, will compete in the 400 this weekend. Almost every sprinter will double back for the 200 meters later in the meet.
The Eagles will also field relay squads for the men's and women's distance medley relays and the women's 4x400.
