WASHINGTON – The indoor track team is splitting up this weekend. A small distance squad is competing at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, while sprints and some distance runners will return to Liberty to compete at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 13-14).
At their previous meet at George Mason (Jan. 30-Feb. 1), the Eagles added a few more times to the record books, headlined by freshmen.
Lilia Jones bettered her own AU second all-time mark in the 60 meters, running 7.72 seconds to place second in the event.
Shealyn Brochu, coming off a fifth all-time performance in the mile at Penn State (Jan. 17), ran a fourth all-time mark of 2:14.54 in the 800 meters for a commanding win.
Emma Colavito opened her indoor season with a seventh all-time mark of 17:43.46 in the 5k. Senior
Carver Morgan won the mile in a PR of 4:06.36, improving his fourth all-time mark, followed closely by
Kaden Kluth in 4:06.63.
Currently, five Eagles sit in the Patriot League top 10:

VALENTINE MEET INFORMATION
Thirteen distance athletes will compete at BU. The men will compete on Friday and the women will compete on Saturday. On the men's side, Morgan and sophomore
Barak Goldstein will compete in the 800 meters. Both have competed in the distance already this season; Morgan broke AU's indoor program record at Penn State with a time of 1:48.82, and Goldstein won the 800 at George Mason in 1:55.16.
Freshman
Emmett Engelhardt and sophomore
Zack Zerbe will join Kluth in the mile. Kluth holds the program record of 4:00.60, which he set at last year's Valentine Invitational. Engelhardt and Zerbe both set PRs in the mile at George Mason, running 4:15.22 and 4:15.97, respectively.
Senior
Cooper Michaud and sophomore
Noah Smith will compete in the 3k. Michaud will be stepping down in distance after racing the 5k at George Mason, while Smith will race the 3k for the second consecutive time this season.
On the women's side, sophomore
Kara Langbaum and senior
Kate Riley are entered in both the 800 meters and the 1,000 meters; Riley owns the program's sixth all-time mark in the 800. Brochu will race her second mile of the season; she currently owns the fifth-best time in AU history in the event. Junior
Estella Miller and sophomore
Zoe Rector will both run another 3k; Miller set a personal best on the flat track of George Mason, while Rector's PR is from last year's Valentine Invitational.
Emma Colavito will also compete, racing her second 5k of the season.
DARIUS DIXON MEET INFORMATION
Twenty-two athletes will compete at Liberty this weekend, including two program record-holders. Junior
Lorelei Bangit and sophomore
Tamara Dorval will compete in their primary events on Friday, with Bangit competing in the 400 meters and Dorval competing in the 60 meters. Both will double back for the 200 meters on Saturday.
In the short sprints, Dorval will be joined in the 60 meters by seniors
Ciera Thacker and
Chloee Dotts, as well as freshman
Lilia Jones. For the long sprints, sophomores
Zoe Clark and
Lara Gin will join Bangit in the 400 meters. Most of the squad will double in the 200 on Saturday. Junior
Hannah Puckett will race the 500 meters for the second consecutive time on Saturday. The team will also field a 4x400 relay.
In the men's sprints, junior
Jason Omari-Anim will start the weekend in the 60 meters. Freshman
Gregory Celariste will compete in the 400 on Friday before joining Omari-Anim in the 200 on Saturday. Senior
Owen Garrett will compete in the 300 on Saturday. The men's sprints will also field a 4x400 relay on Saturday afternoon.
On the women's distance side, junior
Scarlett Lestina and freshman
Charlotte Orr will compete in the 800 meters on Friday and double in the 1,000 meters on Saturday. Senior
Skyler Tatum will compete in the 5k, and senior
Annie Ripol and freshman
Lydia Drago will toe the line in the 3k.
In men's distance, sophomore
Papakojo Danquah and freshman
Daden Grogan will compete in the 800 meters on Friday. Grogan will double in the 500 meters on Saturday. The men's squad will have four athletes in the 3k: senior
