BOSTON — Carver Morgan and
Kaden Kluth competed at the Saucony Battle for Boston on Sunday (Feb. 22), a week before the Patriot League Championships on the same track.
Morgan placed ninth in the 800, breaking AU's indoor 800 record for the third time this season with a personal best of 1:47.32. He currently sits at third in the Patriot League and 30th in the NCAA.
Kaden Kluth placed 25th in the mile, running 4:01.19. His PR of 4:00.31, set at the same track at the Valentine Invitational (Feb. 13), sits at fourth in the Patriot League.
Coaches' Corner
"Kaden and Carver are at a point in their careers where there start to be limited opportunities to take shots at really fast times, especially indoors," said head coach
Sean Graham. "We decided to take a shot this weekend up in Boston. Kaden had a solid race in the mile but unfortunately just missed dipping under four minutes at the end. A little more engaged racing early on will help in that venture next week.
"Carver had a very good race, lowering his PR, resetting his own school record, and now sitting 30th in the nation. Similar to Kaden, there were a few points of improvement we can look to now adjust for next time to hopefully get into the top 16. Now we sharpen up quickly to come back up to Boston next weekend for the conference championships."
