MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — American University field hockey was honored as a recipient of the esteemed 2024 NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Division I National Team Award.
The NFHCA celebrates academic excellence by honoring 57 Division I in 2024. This prestigious acknowledgment is granted to programs that have achieved an exceptional team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
Monmouth University impressively led all of Division I, securing the top spot with an overall team GPA of 3.84. Close behind, Michigan State University and Virginia Commonwealth University collectively claim second place, each attaining a commendable team-average GPA of 3.79, reinforcing their commitment to academic success. The Eagles' earned an impressive semester GPA of 3.73 during the fall.
Last week, it was announced that five AU seniors,
Katelyn Bailey,
Rebecca Bonness,
Kaleigh Missimer,
Delia Rabatin, and
Tayla-Jade Weiss were honored as four-time members of the 2024 Division I National Academic Squad. On top of that, three athletes,
Ashley Huddleston, Missimer, and Weiss were named as 2024 NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.
