BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The American University track team concluded the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships with five personal records (PRs) and four record-book setting marks.
DAY 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Danny O'Neill kicked things off for the day in the men's 3000m steeplechase with an eight second personal record (PR) and was followed up with Hannah Schwab's 13-second PR in the women's 3000m steeplechase.
- In the men's 1500m finals, senior Nathan Reeves led the pack for three laps before being surpassed, finishing sixth to take three points with his 3:51.47 finish in the event.
- Kaden Kluth, in the men's 800m final, came in fourth, missing out on a podium spot by less than a second, but grabbing five points for the Eagles squad.
- Row Sullivan had a successful 5000m run, coming in fourth overall, doubling up on the distance events for the weekend, pairing this race with the 10000m run on Friday. Cooper Michaud crossed the line second for the Eagles in the event, and 19th overall, running a big, 30-second personal best.
- June Mwaniki was another distance athlete that ran both the 10000m and 5000m events for American. The junior came in ninth overall in the event, a marked improvement from coming in 27th in the event just a year ago in 2022.
- The men's 4x400m relay team of Fernando Ibarra, Carver Morgan, Ethan Puc, and Kaden Kluth came in fourth overall, tracking the seventh highest time in AU history.
- To round out the event, the women's 4x400m relay team, consisting of Chloee Dotts, Lucia Ianello, Jessica Bakas, and Cassandra Daniele, came across the line with a time of 4:08.96 and placed themselves at fifth all-time in the American record books.
