The American University men's indoor track and field team posted four IC4A qualifying times on Saturday at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
Josh Olsen was the Eagles' top finisher on the day, placing second in the 3,000 meter run. His time of 8:23.01 eclipsed the IC4A standard and represents a new personal best. He was joined in the event by Mark Allen who took seventh in a personal-best time of 8:33.14, Mark Leinenger who took 8th in 8:35.76, also a PR, and Ryan Williams who placed 10th in 8:46.37.
Colin Eusits and Jeff Brannigan each posted IC4A times in the mile run. Eustis took third place with a personal record time of 4:10.57 while Brannigan placed fourth in 4:11.17. Craig Brown finished sixth in the mile with a time of 4:15.26 and Alex Lyons took eighth in 4:23.34.
Conor Sullivan led a trio of Eagles in the 1,000 meter run with a fourth place showing, crossing the line in and IC4A time of 2:29.04. C.J. Horvath clocked in at 2:37.39 to place eighth while Greg Lush posted a 2:39.10 for ninth place.
Zach Wright competed in two events Saturday, placing 11th in the 200 meter dash and sixth in the high jump. His time of 22.93 in the 200 meter is the second fastest time in program history. Wright cleared a final height of 1.89 meters in the high jump.
American will return to action next Saturday, January 22 at the Maryland Invitational in Landover, Md.
