WASHINGTON – Sean Graham, head coach of American University men's and women's cross country, has announced the program's 2026 schedule. The Eagles are set to compete in four regular season races before the Patriot League Championships at Bucknell on October 31.
 
American will open the season as it has for the past three seasons, in Richmond at the Spider Alumni Open (Sep. 5) before heading up to State College, Pa. for Penn State's Spiked Shoe Invitational (Sep. 11). The squad will race through Lehigh's Paul Short in Bethlehem, Pa. (Oct. 2) course before competing on Long Island at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (Oct. 17).
 
The postseason will see the team travel to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Patriot League Championships (Oct. 31), hosted by Bucknell on Halloween. Then, the Eagles will return to Bethlehem, Pa. for the second time for the NCAA Regional Championships (Nov. 13), where they will be battling it out for spots at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, hosted by Indiana State.

The Eagles enter the 2025 season after a campaign that saw the men's team's highest place finish at the Patriot League Championships since 2013, coming in third. A core group of returners, juniors Ty Parker, Zack Zerbe, Noah Smith, and Barak Goldstein, are going to be holding up the men's side this coming fall.
 
The women, who placed seventh at PL Championships, will be led by sophomores Shealyn Brochu–the reigning PL Rookie of the Meet for cross country–and Emma Colavito. Brochu led the team in all six meets last year while Colavito was the Eagles second place finisher in all four races she competed in. Junior Zoe Rector will also look to make a noticeable impact this season, filling in the gaps left by the graduating class.
