WASHINGTON –– Joining head coach
Sean Graham's staff in August 2026 is Jordyn Pugh. Pugh will serve as an assistant coach for both cross country and track, focusing on the distance side. Pugh brings five years of coaching experience in with her from the Patriot League's Loyola Maryland.
"I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Jordyn to our staff," said Graham on the addition. "Her vast experience in the Patriot League in combination with achievements as a coach as well as a very successful student athlete in her own right is going to be invaluable to our program. The team is at an exciting time of growth and performance opportunity that Jordyn, I believe, will be able to take great advantage of to help guide us to even greater success in the future."
Pugh joined Loyola University Maryland cross country and track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach for the Greyhounds in the fall of 2021. Pugh is an alumna, having graduated from Loyola in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in bio-psychology interdisciplinary. She holds USTFCCCA certificates as a strength and conditioning coach and an endurance event specialist.
A varsity runner for the Greyhounds since 2017, Pugh competed in cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field for Loyola. She was a team captain during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons, as well.
"I want to thank Coach Graham and the athletic administration for this opportunity to lead the women's cross country and distance program here at American University," said Pugh. "I am really looking forward to working with this talented group of student-athletes and helping them reach their potential both on and off the course and track. My goal is to develop student-athletes into well-rounded leaders, and I am thrilled to have the support of AU and the Patriot League to do so!"
