WASHINGTON –– American University cross country returns to action on Friday, Sept. 11 in University Park, Pa. for the PSU Spiked Shoe Invitational. The women's 6k will start at 10 a.m. and the men's 5.2 miler will start at 10:45 a.m.

Last Time Out
The Eagles are coming off a successful season opener that saw the men's team place fourth and the women fifth at Richmond's Spider Alumni Open. The meet featured a top-10 overall finish in the women's 4k from
Anna Villavicencio.
Noah Smith, in the men's 6k, came in 13th overall, leading the men's side for the first time in his AU career.
Last Time at the Spike Shoe Invite
In 2025, the men's team finished fifth and the women eighth. In her first ever 6k,
Shealyn Brochu led the women's squad, placing 15
th.
Zoe Rector (57th) and
Kara Langbaum (73rd) followed, running PRs.
Estella Miller rounded out the scoring, placing 87th. For the returners on the men's squad,
Noah Smith (48th) and
Zack Zerbe (55th) rounded out the scoring five for the Eagles, running 26:19.0 and 26:25.9, respectively.
