WASHINGTON – The outdoor track team is opening their season at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by Richmond on Friday (Mar. 20). Most of the team will compete at this meet as the team works toward the postseason in May. The Eagles will start the meet with the men's steeplechase at 10:15 a.m.
FRED HARDY INVITATIONAL MEET INFORMATION
In men's distance, senior
Cooper Michaud and sophomore
Daniel Messer will start the day with the steeplechase. Both are coming off personal bests in the 3k and 5k indoors. Sophomores
Barak Goldstein,
Ty Parker,
Noah Smith, and
Zack Zerbe will compete in the 1500 meters. Goldstein, Parker, and Zerbe will join sophomore
Papakojo Danquah and freshmen
Emmett Engelhardt and
Daden Grogan in the 800. Senior
Jack Chandler, and sophomore
Jaden Frederick will compete in the 5k later in the day.
The women's distance crew will start the day at 11:15 a.m. with senior
Kate Riley, junior
Scarlett Lestina, sophomore
Kara Langbaum, and freshmen
Shealyn Brochu and
Charlotte Orr in the 1500 meters. They will all join junior
Hannah Puckett in the 800 later in the day. The 5k will feature five Eagles: senior
Annie Ripol, junior
Estella Miller, sophomores
Fiona Murphy and
Zoe Rector, and freshman
Lydia Drago.
On the men's sprints side, senior
Owen Garrett will race the 400 at 1 p.m. Junior
Jason Omari-Anim and freshmen
Gregory Celariste,
James Soergel, and
Alex Zenit will compete in the 100. The full group will double in the 200, and the men's team will field a 4x400 meter relay at the end of the meet.
For the women's sprints, juniors
Adeline DiPaolo and
Hannah Puckett and sophomores
Zoe Clark and
Lara Gin will race the 400 meters at 12:40 p.m. Senior
Chloee Dotts, sophomore
Tamara Dorval, and freshman
Lilia Jones will race the 100 meters. Clark, Dotts, DiPaolo, Dorval, Gin, and Jones will double back for the 200.
