Women’s Basketball Drops Patriot League Lineup to Lock In 2025-26 Schedule

WASHINGTON – The American University women's basketball team will tip off its season on the road at Reitz Arena, taking on the Loyola Greyhounds on New Year's Eve to initiate the journey to the conference tournament in March, head coach Kelly Killion announced on Wednesday.

Season tickets are on sale now for entry to all home games in 2025-26. For detailed ticket information, see below. Save the date for the annual Tip-Off Dinner. The event will be held October 22. Both coaching staffs will be in attendance. More details to follow as the season draws nearer.

Patriot League play begins when AU heads up to Baltimore to take on Loyola Md. (Dec. 31) and the Eagles' league home opener will be against the Terriers of Boston U. (Jan. 3). American will play 18 league games, facing every team in the league twice. The regular season will conclude with back-to-back road games at Boston U. (Feb. 28) and at Lehigh (Mar. 4) to bookend the conference slate.

The two longest road trips for American will split the season, with a trip to Holy Cross on Jan. 10 and a trip back up to Massachusetts to face Boston U. on Feb. 28 in the penultimate regular season game.

Now under the tutelage of first-year head coach Kelly Killion and a new coaching staff along with her, the Eagles are looking for fresh starts on and off the court. Alongside Killion on the bench will be associate head coach Robert Isme, assistant coaches Paige Corkins and Niya Beverley, and director of operations, Taylor Lauterbach. Corkins, a former assistant at Holy Cross and Beverley, previously on staff as the Eagles' director of operations, are no strangers to the Patriot League.

American announced its 2025-26 non-conference schedule in August, which features the five home contests, and an extra in the District down the road at George Washington, along with trips to Clemson, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Richmond.

Reminder that the Eagles will tip-off their season in Bender Arena on Saturday, Nov. 8 against Delaware State before hitting the road to take on Clemson on Thursday, Nov. 13.
