Robert Isme joined head Coach Killion’s staff as the team’s associate head coach in June of 2025. Prior to coming to American, Isme was with Dartmouth women's basketball program as the team's assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in June of 2023 and was promoted to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator in June of 2024.
With the Eagles in his first season, Isme oversaw the post players, coaching freshman forward Charlotte Tuhy to a place in the national spotlight for rebounding. Tuhy was named to the All-Patriot League Third Team and the All-Rookie team as well and finished the season averaging a double-double (12.0 ppg, 11.3 rpg). Tuhy (.412) and senior Anna Rescifina (.429), who played as a forward in her final season with AU, had two of the highest field goal percentages on the squad at the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
Prior to his stint at Dartmouth, Isme spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator on Cimino's staff at St. Francis Brooklyn after a lengthy stint at his alma mater, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). During the 2021-22 season, his first on Cimino's staff, Isme helped guide the Terriers to a program-best 13 conference victories. The 17-win campaign also featured an upset of Michigan State, which marked St. Francis Brooklyn's first Power Five triumph in program history.
At NYIT, Isme was a men's basketball assistant coach from 2008-15 before serving as the Division II program's interim head coach for the 2015-16 season. He then joined NYIT's women's program as an assistant coach and helped guide the Bears to a 2018-19 conference championship, plus a pair of NCAA Tournament bids, before joining Cimino at St. Francis Brooklyn prior to the 2021-22 season. Isme earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from NYIT in 2012 and went on to earn his master's in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021.
Isme and his wife Dr. Zaibis Munoz-Isme have two children, son Maximus and daughter Kalliope.
