LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - It was a successful day at the Lock Haven Open for American University wrestling, as nine Eagles placed and Caleb Campos and Ellis Kirsch won their respective weight classes. AU now has 21 placewinners through four open tournaments this season.

Notable

• In addition to Campos (184) and Kirsch (133), JJ Peace finished second at 125, and Gage Owen (149), Kaden Milheim (157), Hunter Hohman (174), and Emmanuel Ulrich (285) all took third place. Raymond Lopez and Maximilian Leete met in the third place match in the 133A division, but did not wrestle each other and both took fourth place.
• Campos went 3-0 on the day, picking up a pin and two decisions. He secured the fall against Greens Farms Academy's Tyler Neiva in the quarterfinals in 2:07, his second in as many matches. 
• In the first place match, Campos used an escape and a late takedown to grab a six-point lead before adding riding time. The redshirt junior is now 10-2 on the year and has won seven matches in a row. 
• Kirsch's tournament victory is the first of his career, as the freshman entered the day having wrestled just three times this year. He got a bye to the semifinal round, defeating Bucknell's Blue Siffler and Bryce Manera via major decision to finish in first place. 
• Peace fell to Navy's Nick Treaster in a tight bout in the final to take second place, conceding an escape to make the score 5-4 with just 20 seconds remaining in the third period. 
• The sophomore notched a pin of Orchard's Riley Bernash in the semifinal in 3:56, and used three takedowns to record a major decision in the quarterfinals. 
• Milheim wrestled the most matches on the day, going 4-1 after falling in the quarterfinals to Navy's Charlie Evans. He responded by winning three matches in a row on the way to a rematch with Evans in the third place match, besting him on the second try with a 9-7 decision. 
• Milheim's three other wins came via decision, major decision, and a pin of Lock Haven's Wyatt Lazzar in 6:22.
