WASHINGTON - After scoring the game-winning goal to lift the American University field hockey team to its first Patriot League regular season title since 2013, sophomore Hannah Moser has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Eagles overcame the previously-undefeated Lafayette Leopards for the right to host the Patriot League Tournament. Moser hit the game-winner midway through the first quarter after a long run along the end line put her just off the post where she slid the ball under the oncoming Lafayette goalkeeper.

AU will be the top seed and will host the PL Tournament on Nov. 8 (semifinals) and Nov. 10 (championship).
