The American University women's basketball team returns home on Sunday, Nov. 29, for a 2 p.m. contest versus Wake Forest.
American, which is still searching for its first victory of the season, enters its game against Wake Forest with an 0-5 record after falling to William & Mary, 62-51, on Wednesday evening. Senior Michelle Holmes registered her first double-double of the season, recording 18 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, along with four assists and a career-high five blocks, against the Tribe, while junior Lauren Crisler added 10 points. For William & Mary, Marlena Tremba led four players in double-figures scoring, registering a game-high 22 points.
For the season, Holmes averages a team-best 10.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game to lead the Eagles, while classmate Ari Booth adds 8.7 points per game. Crisler and sophomore Emily Kinneston rank close behind with 8.0 points per contest each.
Wake Forest owns a 4-1 overall record on the season and is coming off a 61-53 home victory over La Salle. The Demon Deacons were led by junior Milan Quinn, who came off the bench to record a career-high 20 points and 14 rebounds against the Explorers.
Three players average in double-figures scoring for Wake Forest, led by freshman Ariel Stephenson with 14.4 points per game. Sophomore Amber Campbell adds 13.6 points per contest, while Quinn averages 13.4 points and a team-leading 10.4 rebounds per game.
