BETHLEHEM, Pa. –– On Monday, the Patriot League announced that American University women's basketball sophomore
Molly Driscoll has been named to the League's All-Academic Team. This is Driscoll's first appearance on the team. Driscoll is one of two sophomores to earn academic honors.
Army and Holy Cross led the way with two selections apiece while Lafayette's Teresa Kiewiet was named the league's Scholar Athlete of the Year. Voting for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-Academic Team is done by the league's women's basketball sports information directors.
As a freshman, Driscoll earned a spot on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2024-25, and currently, in her second year, she carries a 3.84 cumulative GPA while studying business administration. Active in service, Driscoll went on the 2025 Eagles in Service trip to Guatemala to build a sport court with Courts for Kids. She also partners with St. Luke's Hospital to host a summer skills camp for kids.
On the court, Driscoll has been an integral part of the Eagles' offense all season, having started in all 30 games this season and played a team-leading average of 33 minutes per game. She averaged 11.6 points per game and collected 2.8 rebounds per game. She led the team with 35 steals and sank a team-leading 46 three pointers this campaign. Driscoll has played in all 60 games so far during her time with the Eagles.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. These honors recognize student-athletes who excel in their sport and the classroom.
