ATLANTA –– American University women's basketball assistant coach
Paige Corkins has been named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 list, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. This is Corkins' third straight year earning this honor.
"Three years, three times the fire! I am beyond thrilled and honored to be named to the WBCA 30 Under 30 for the third year running," said Corkins. "Being surrounded by such a powerhouse group of coaches who redefine excellence every single day is the ultimate reward. I'm more energized than ever to growing this game, pushing boundaries, and paving a fearless path for the next generation of women in sports. Let's keep building!"
The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each honoree has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner, and attitude, and professional association involvement.
"What a tremendous honor for Paige to be named to the Thirty Under 30 for the third consecutive year," said head coach
Kelly Killion. "I am not surprised in the slightest. Paige has an exceptional work ethic, a lively personality, and an uncanny ability to connect with others. All of these qualities make for a wonderful coach, and Paige truly embodies them.
"Beyond her professional accomplishments, Paige is deeply committed to the growth and success of those around her. She leads by example, consistently demonstrating integrity, passion, and a genuine care for our team. Her ability to inspire confidence and bring out the best in others sets her apart, and this recognition is a true reflection of the impact she continues to make every day."
Corkins has made an immediate impact coaching with the Eagles since arriving in The District. In the 2025-26 season, the Eagles earned an Academic All-Patriot League selection with
Molly Driscoll as well as an All-Rookie and Third Team honoree with
Charlotte Tuhy. Driscoll saw her minutes improve from 16 minutes in the 2024-25 season to 33 minutes per game in the 2025-26 season and led the team in scoring for most of the season. Tuhy, as a freshman, led the team on both ends of the court when the season ended, averaging a double-double with 12.0 ppg and 11.3 rpg.
Corkins came to AU from league foe Holy Cross after time at Fordham. With the Crusaders, she mentored post players. In 2024-25, she worked with Academic All-League, Second team All-League, and All-Defensive team selection, Lindsay Berger. A year prior, she'd worked with Janelle Allen who was named to the Patriot League Championship All-Tournament Team and All-Patriot League Third Team. During 2023-24 Corkins helped guide the Crusaders to their second NCAA Tournament win, the 2024 Patriot League Tournament Championship, and the 2023-24 Patriot League Regular Season Championship.
With the Rams, Corkins spent her first season as a video analyst and added director of player development to her responsibilities for the 2022-23 season. While with the Rams, Corkins developed and carried out individual workout plans, return to play injury plans, produced scouting reports, assisted Green in developing game strategy, designing of effective and efficient training and practices for both the team and individual student-athletes as well as coordinated all film and video responsibilities for the program.
Before Fordham, Corkins was an assistant coach at her alma mater, Concordia for three years specifically working with the post players while assisting with academic support, coordinating team activities and scouting. During her tenure at Concordia, the program reached the NCAA Division II Regionals. A four year letter winner for the Clippers, the one-time team captain finished her career ranked 15th in program history in offensive rebounds and was top 20 in both rebounds and defensive rebounds.
Corkins graduated from Concordia with a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2017 and earned her Master's of Science in public media from Fordham in 2023.
