What to Know About American: 1-6 (0-0)
  • The Eagles are on a three-game skid, falling to George Mason, UMBC, then #23 Pittsburgh after picking their first win of the season against Howard on Feb. 22.
  • AU challenged Pitt early on, trading goals to trail just 5-4 with 5:23 remaining in the second quarter. After a rain delay paused play for nearly an hour, the Panthers outscored American 9-1 the rest of the way.
  • Murdoch and Linehan have led AU's attack so far this season, combining to score over half the team's goals (33 of 60). Murdoch has put in 17 and her fellow senior captain follows closely behind with 16. Linehan has made an extended impact in the circle as well, collecting a team-leading 22 draw controls.
  • Sammie Buonaccorsi has been AU's most disruptive defender, and she currently ranks among the nation's best. She is 15th in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game with 2.43, racking up 17 total to go along with 16 ground balls.
  • The Eagles have found themselves playing from behind often this year, getting outscored 26-16 in the first quarter of games.
  • Brooke Hill has started every game in goal and spent the majority of time between the posts for AU, holding a 15.21 GAA with 53 saves. Maryanne Harris has appeared in three games off the bench, making nine saves and allowing six goals.
What to Know About Colgate: 2-4 (0-0)
  • The Red Raiders are coming off a 16-13 loss to Albany at home, coming up short after clawing back from a seven-goal halftime deficit.
  • Gracie Desimone led the comeback effort, scoring four goals and dishing out an assist. Aubrey McMahon netted four goals as well, bringing her team-leading goal total up to 17.
  • Senior attacker Caroline Panzirer joined McMahon on this year's Preseason All-Patriot League team, headlining Colgate's returners. Panzirer is off to a strong start, holding seven goals and five assists to her name.
  • The Raiders played a challenging non-conference schedule, taking on #5 Johns Hopkins and #17 Penn State in back-to-back weeks. They fell in both those games, but took away victories from St. Bonaventure and Niagara both on the road.
