WASHINGTON - Kellie Linehan,
Reagan Murdoch, and
Samantha Buonaccorsi of American University lacrosse have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, announced on Tuesday.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District or Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have significant athletic credentials. First-year student-athletes are not eligible for Academic All-District or Academic All-America distinction. The at-large division consists of men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, and men's and women's lacrosse and wrestling.
Linehan earns the academic honor for a second time, graduating with a 3.89 GPA as a computer science major. She matched her effort in the classroom with the best season of her career on the field, logging a team-leading 50 points on 35 goals and 15 assists. The senior was an All-Patriot League Second Team selection.Â
Murdoch led the Eagles in goals for a second straight season with a career-high 50, and she graduated with a 3.74 GPA. The neuroscience major adds the CSC honor to three Patriot League Academic Honor Roll distinctions, in addition to back-to-back All-PL Second Team selections.Â
Buonaccorsi led AU's defense in her junior season, causing 29 turnovers and picking up 26 ground balls. She stood in the Patriot League's top ten in caused turnovers throughout the season, finishing sixth in the conference. The finance major held a 3.68 GPA to earn her first CSC Academic At-Large selection.Â
