WASHINGTON - The American University wrestling team will host the 122nd EIWA Championships on March 6-7 in Bender Arena. All-session tickets are on sale now. Single session tickets will go on sale March 2. 
 
American is hosting the championship for the nation's oldest wrestling conference for the first time, as 10 Eagles will look to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships in Cleveland. AU has had 12 EIWA champions in program history, and 34 total national qualifiers. 
 
"Hosting the EIWA Championships for the first time is a historic moment for our program and our university," said AU head wrestling coach Jason Borrelli. "Bringing over 120 years of EIWA tradition to Bender Arena will allow us to showcase our campus, our city, and the passion of our wrestling community on one of the biggest stages in the sport. It speaks volumes toward the growth of our program and the commitment AU has made to wrestling."
 
The Tournament will be held in AU's Bender Arena, with three mats set to hold the action throughout the weekend. The event consists of three sessions over the two days, with the new Meltzer Center providing additional space to support team warmups and tournament operations.
 
"We are proud to bring the EIWA Championships to AU, as it's a reflection of our continued investment in championship-level experiences for our student-athletes," said American University Director of Athletics JM Caparro. "With the added support of the Meltzer Center in addition to Bender Arena, we are excited to provide an environment that meets the standards of one of the nation's most historic wrestling conferences."
