MANHEIM, Pa. - Maximilian Leete and
JJ Peace have been recognized as National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans, an award that recognizes exceptional student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in academics and athletics.
A total of 390 scholar-athletes from 73 institutions across the nation were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Leete, a grad student, has a 3.33 GPA as he pursues his degree in nonprofit management. It's his second time earning the NWCA honor across his five-year career, pairing them with two EIWA Academic Achievement awards as well.
The sophomore Peace is a business and entertainment major with a 3.63 GPA, receiving the first academic honor of his career. Both Peace and Leete were starters for the Eagles throughout the season and at the EIWA Championships.
NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer applauded these outstanding athletes. He expressed, "These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom. We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport."
