WASHINGTON – The American University outdoor track team is continuing the postseason at the ECAC/IC4A Championships at George Mason this weekend (May 17-18). The Eagles will compete mostly on Saturday, starting with the open mile at 3:35 p.m.
ECAC/IC4A CHAMPIONSHIPS MEET INFORMATION
Seven Eagles will toe the line this weekend. Senior
Danny O'Neill will start the team off in the open mile at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday (May 17). O'Neill ran a steeplechase PR of 9:13.22 to place sixth at the Patriot League Championships (May 3); he will double back from the mile on Saturday to race the steeplechase at 6:40 p.m.
Junior
Carver Morgan will race the 800 meters at 5:35 p.m. and junior
Kaden Kluth will compete in the 1500 meters at 6:10 p.m. Kluth and Morgan are coming off gold medal performances at Patriot Leagues, with Morgan winning the 800 in a PR and meet record of 1:47.91 and Kluth winning the 1500 in 3:49.60. Both are ranked in the top 48 in the NCAA East Region.
On the women's side, freshman
Tamara Dorval will compete in the 100 meters at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, with finals taking place at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday (May 18). She placed fourth in the event at the Patriot League Championships, setting a program record of 11.86 seconds in the prelims, and contributed to the bronze medal 4x100 relay that ran a program record of 46.22.
In women's distance, seniors
Lucia Ianello and
Kirah Tianga will compete in the 1500 meters at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday. Both are coming off PRs in the event at Patriot Leagues. Grad student
Bryn Underwood will race the 5k at 8:00 p.m; she ran a PR of 17:51.26 in the event at the Virginia Challenge (Apr. 18).
