WASHINGTON - For their performances both on the mat and in the classroom, four American University wrestlers earned EIWA Academic Achievement Awards for the 2024-25 school year. Grad student Will Jarrell and senior Lucas White earned their third, honor, while redshirt freshmen Coen Bainey and Gage Owen took home their first.

Bainey, Jarrell, and White, were also recently honored as NWCA Scholar All-Americans.

The criteria for EIWA Academic Achievement Awards includes achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and participating in the EIWA Championships, or achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and representing the EIWA and your institution at the NCAA Championships.

This academic and athletic performance is a testament to their dedication and motivation to excel both on and off of the mat, and to the overall level of academic excellence in the EIWA.

American University EIWA Academic Achievement Award winners:
125 - Coen Bainey (3.64) - EIWA 6th
149 - Gage Owen (3.22)
184 - Lucas White (3.77)
HWT - Will Jarrell (3.70) - EIWA 8th
