WASHINGTON - After an impressive performance in goal for American University lacrosse, senior Caleigh Forti has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 31-April 6. The Eagles dropped a 16-13 contest, but held their own against #25 Army thanks in large part to Forti's efforts.

In the cage for American for the complete game, Forti made a season-high 17 saves. Six of those saves came in the third quarter as the Eagles took a two-goal lead early and were still up one at the end of the period. At the other end, Army's keepers made just six saves in the entire contest.

The Eagles will travel to Lewisburg, Pa., for a Patriot League matchup with Bucknell next Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m. They'll return home on April 19 for Senior Day.
