SERIES HISTORY
  • AU is 3-4 against Army all-time, most recently falling at West Point 22-9 a year ago. Reagan Murdoch had a hat trick for American, while Becca Frank and Maddy Spratt added goals in the loss.
  • The Eagles last defeated the Black Knights at home in 2019, 12-10.
SCOUTING AMERICAN
  • The Eagles are in the midst of a three-game skid, dropping games to Holy Cross, Lafayette, and Colgate over the last two weeks. The slide marks the first time AU has lost back-to-back contests this season.
  • American stayed within striking distance of Colgate on the road this Saturday, but struggled to narrow the deficit to under four goals after falling behind early. Alyssa Apuzzo, Kellie Linehan, Reagan Murdoch, and Maddy Spratt all scored two goals, Becca Frank, Ashley Smith, and Peyton Coleman each added one.
  • The freshman Coleman has made an impact off the bench in the draw control circle over the last three games, collecting seven and adding her first career goal.
  • After her seventh game with double-digit saves this season, Caleigh Forti sits atop the Patriot League in total saves with 119. She's averaging just under 10 stops per game.
  • The junior midfield tandem of Kellie Linehan and Reagan Murdoch has taken up a chunk of AU's offensive production, seeing the pair combine for 55 goals and 13 assists. They've made an impact beyond the attacking half as well, totaling 15 caused turnovers and 33 draw controls.
  • Maddy Spratt leads the Eagles in points with 41, pairing 25 goals with 16 assists. The senior captain has also been crucial for AU in gaining possession, sitting at seventh in the Patriot League with 62 draw controls on the season.
SCOUTING ARMY
  • The Black Knights are coming off an impressive week, taking down #4 Stanford 12-9 at Michie Stadium last Wednesday, March 26, and breezing past Lafayette 21-2 on Saturday. The win over Stanford marks the highest-ranked opponent the program has beaten, and earned them a spot at number 25 on this week's IWLCA rankings.
  • Allison Reilly scored five goals in the upset, while Brigid Duffy filled the stat sheet for Army with seven points. The junior attacker logged two goals and four assists, along with three caused turnovers, eight draw controls, and two ground balls.
  • Reilly and Duffy continued to lead the charge at a torrid pace in the win over Lafayette last Saturday, combining for 17 total points. Reilly paired five goals with four assists, closely followed by Duffy's seven goals and a helper.
  • A 6-0 run in the first quarter set the tone early, allowing the Black Knights to take control and never look back. Defensively, Army's two goals-allowed tied a program record.
  • The Black Knights now hold a 3-1 record in the Patriot League, with their only conference loss coming to #17 Loyola on March 15, 16-6. Their eight overall wins have all been at home, as they hold a 4-2 record away from Michie Stadium.
