MANHEIM, Pa. - Three American University wrestlers were named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans, an award that recognizes exceptional student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in academics and athletics. Two Eagles were repeat honorees in 2024-25.
A total of 339 scholar-athletes from 78 institutions across the nation were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Among those were AU wrestlers
Will Jarrell,
Lucas White, and
Coen Bainey. White and Jarrell are three-time honorees, while Bainey receives his first honor as a redshirt freshman. Jarrell is a graduate senior and has a 3.70 GPA as a political science major, White accumulated 3.77 GPA in data science & environmental studies for his senior year, and Bainey earned a 3.64 GPA while studying finance. All three were starters for the Eagles throughout the season and at the EIWA Championships.
NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer applauded these outstanding athletes for their unwavering commitment and excellence both on and off the wrestling mat. Moyer expressed, "The NWCA is proud to recognize these outstanding individuals who embody excellence in both athletics and academics."
