MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The American University field hockey team had three student-athletes recognized as National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) Division I Scholars of Distinction, the association announced on Friday, February 14.
Ashley Huddleston,
Kaleigh Missimer, and
Tayla-Jade Weiss are the three members of squad who earned the accolade.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. This year, the NFHCA honored 281 undergraduate student-athletes from over 70 institutions.
More than 40 honorees earned this distinction for the fourth consecutive year. For seniors Weiss and Missimer, this is their fourth time each being honored and sophomore Huddleston's second in as many years.
