COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — American University field hockey has four student-athletes recognized as National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) Division I Scholars of Distinction, the association announced on Friday.
Skylar Duffy,
Jill DuVarney,
Ashley Huddleston, and
Sydney Huddleston are the four members of the Eagles' squad to earn the accolade.
The Division I Scholars of Distinction program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches. This year, the NFHCA honored 341 undergraduate student-athletes from 73 institutions.
More than 60 honorees earned this distinction for the fourth consecutive year. For junior
Ashley Huddleston, this is her third time is as many years being honored while freshmen DuVarney and
Sydney Huddleston, alongside junior
Skylar Duffy, earn the honor for the first time.
