Swim & Dive Teams Earn Two Wins, 13 Top-Six Finishes Against Navy, Bucknell, and Lafayette

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Sophomore Marin Priddy posted both an individual and a relay win for American University swimming and diving as the Eagles competed in a quad meet against Navy, Bucknell, and Lafayette on Saturday afternoon at Lejeune Hall. Overall, AU had two wins, one runner-up finish, and 13 top-six finishes. The men and women both defeated Lafayette, and both lost to Navy and Bucknell.

Notable Results

Priddy's individual winning time of 51.97 in the women's 100 free is a personal record for her that also ranks 10th all-time in program history.
The other win for the Eagles came in the women's final event, the 200 free relay. Priddy teamed up with sophomore Piper Crosby, sophomore Grace Gilbert, and senior Isabel McGovern to go 1:35.48 which ranks 11th-best all-time at American.
McGovern was the second-place finisher in the women's 200 fly in a season-best time of 2:04.80, and later placed fifth in the 100 IM in 1:00.20.
The foursome of Crosby, McGovern, Gilbert, and junior Jordan Carpentieri placed third in the women's 200 medley relay in 1:45.97.
Crosby earned a fourth-place finish in the 100 back in 57.67, with Priddy right behind her in fifth with a PR of 58.08 that ranks 15th all-time at AU.
Sophomore Demetra Bicos took fourth in the women's 500 free in a season-best 5:12.05, and junior Marley Reese was sixth in the women's 200 breaststroke in a season-best 2:26.77.
For the men's team, freshman Gavin Shifflett had the top finish of fourth place in the 50 freestyle with a season-best time of 21.46.
Sophomore Luke Martens was sixth in the men's 200 free in 1:43.75, and junior Sam Kohm was sixth in the 100 fly in a season-best time of 51.74.
Freshman Alex Way placed sixth in men's 3-meter diving with a personal-best score of 279.40 that ranks eighth all-time at American.
