Swim & Dive Season Starts in Late September; Full Schedule Announced

WASHINGTON - Six dual meets including three at home highlight the 2026-27 schedule for American University men's and women's swimming and diving, with the Eagles' first meet slated for September 25. Head coach Garland Bartlett is back for her sixth season at the helm and 11th overall, and has American hosting three home meets at Reeves Aquatic Center in addition to AU's annual Alumni Meet on Oct. 24.

Home Lineup

  • The Eagles' home pool will host its first action with the annual Alumni Meet on Saturday, Oct. 24 at noon.
  • On Halloween Day, a Saturday, American will welcome Howard at noon for the first home dual of the season.
  • AU's other two home duals take place on back-to-back weekends in January, as the Eagles will host VMI on Friday, Jan. 15 and then host Old Dominion for Senior Day on Friday, Jan. 22.
  • Senior Day will be celebrated at the Eagles' final home meet of the season on Friday, Jan. 16 against Mount St. Mary's at 4 p.m. AU has 11 seniors set to be honored this season, including five women and six men.

Road Meets

  • The Potomac Relays, typically held at American, will be hosted by George Mason this season and are set for Friday, Sept. 25.
  • Three road dual meets follow for the Eagles at UMBC (Oct. 3), Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 10), and Catholic (Oct. 30) before the Eagles' home dual against Howard on Oct. 31.
  • November brings tough competition, first in a quad meet at Bucknell on Nov. 7 along with Navy and Lafayette. The Bison are the host of this season's Patriot League Championships, and the Eagles will travel to the Bucknell Invitational on Jan. 30 a few weeks before the PL Championships.
  • As always, the Patriot Invitational at George Mason will be the first major test to see how the Eagles will swim during the championship this season. That meet is set for Nov. 18-21 in Fairfax, Va.
  • Only the two home dual meets in January precede the Bucknell Invite on Jan. 30. The Eagles will also send a group to the Cavalier Invite in Charlottesville in early February before the culmination of the season, the Patriot League Championships, which are set for Feb. 17-20 at Bucknell.
