Prinzez Zeck Named Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After leading the American University volleyball team to back-to-back wins over Army and Colgate last weekend, junior middle blocker Prinzez Zeck has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week. Zeck hit .436 on the weekend, totaling 20 kills and dominating at the net with 15 total blocks. 

Zeck led American's impressive defensive effort over Army on Friday night, racking up nine of the team's season-high 14 total blocks. She followed that performance with an excellent night on the attacking end against Colgate on Saturday, putting down 15 kills on a scorching on to lead the Eagles .519 hitting percentage to lead the Eagles. She added six blocks to her night as well, bringing her season total to 90 (fourth in the PL). 

Freshman outside hitter Sophie Dufour and sophomore libero Bella Marrero earned honorable mention honors this week in addition to Zeck. Dufour totaled 20 kills, five aces, and a block on the weekend, while Marrero was sensational on the defensive end for AU. She took on 35 digs, including an incredible diving effort to earn the final point of the third set against Colgate. 

The Eagles are back in action on Friday, Nov. 7 against Loyola in the final home match of the season. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
