WASHINGTON - For their performances both on the mat and in the classroom, six American University wrestlers earned EIWA Academic Achievement Awards for the 2023-24 school year. Repeat honorees include grad student Will Jarrell, junior Jack Maida and redshirt sophomore Lucas White.

Earning their first such honor were redshirt sophomore Devon Capato, junior Maximilian Leete and sophomore Liam Volk-Klos.

Jarrell, Maida, Leete and Volk-Klos were all recently honored as NWCA Scholar All-Americans.

The criteria for EIWA Academic Achievement Awards includes achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and participating in the EIWA Championships, or achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and representing the EIWA and your institution at the NCAA Championships.

133 - Maximilian Leete, American (3.08) - EIWA 5th, NCAA Qualifier
157 - Devon Capato American (3.47)
