WASHINGTON - For her efforts in leading the American University lacrosse team to an 11-10 win over local rival George Mason on Feb. 29, junior Alyssa Apuzzo has been named the Gregorio's Trattoria Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-March 3.

Apuzzo scored twice and added three assists for five total points in the Eagles' win, scoring on both of her shots on goal. For the season, Apuzzo's 17 total points are tied for the team lead, and her 1.5 assists per game rank seventh in the Patriot League.

American is on the road for its next two games, beginning with a noon Patriot League matchup at Lehigh on Saturday, March 9.
