BETHLEHEM, Pa. – On Monday, the Patriot League announced that American University women's basketball graduate student
Lauren Stack was named to the League's All-Academic Team.
A four-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honoree and an honoree to the 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team, this is Stack's first appearance on the PL All-League Team. In the spring of 2023, she graduated from American with a degree in journalism with a 3.89 cumulative GPA. Since then, she has been working toward a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing and holds a 3.83 GPA in her MFA program.
On the court, Stack has been an integral part of the Eagles' offense and defense all season having started all 30 games this season. She averaged 6.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game throughout the season and finished second on the team with 46 steals and third with seven blocks.
Stack has played in 124 games throughout her career with AU, which ties her for third most games played all time in program history.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. These honors recognize student-athletes who excel in their sport and the classroom.
