How it Happened
- Navy quickly jumped out to an 11-0 lead over American within three minutes, forcing an AU timeout early to reset. Mesuch was already 2-for-2 with five points.

- Coming out of halftime, American went on a 6-0 run, Salazar and Madison Moore-Nicholson sinking three pointers to work to bring the Eagles back into it. American was 6-for-13 from deep overall, the Eagles shooting 46.2 percent at this point in the game.
- The Mids kept up the offensive pressure though, not making it easy for American to climb back up. Barnett-Gay, Mesuch, and Liggio each had 10 points apiece for Navy at the media timeout in the third, with 4:42 to play in the frame.
