WASHINGTON – This winter, the American University track team will race at meets ranging from the DMV to Boston, with most of the meets being held in Virginia. The team will compete at seven meets in the regular season before the Patriot League Indoor Championships in Annapolis, Md. and ECAC/IC4A Championships in Boston, Mass. in early March.
The Eagles will begin their regular season later than last year, opening at the NYC Gotham Cup (Jan. 17) in Staten Island and the Virginia Tech Invitational (Jan. 17-18) in Blacksburg, Va. The squad will return to Virginia for the Patriot Games (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) at George Mason and the Liberty Open (Feb. 7-8) at Liberty University.
A few weeks before the championship season, the squad will split, with some heading north to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational and some going south to Clemson for the Tiger Paw Invitational (Feb. 14-15). The group will take one more trip to George Mason for the Father Diamond Invitational (Feb. 21) before turning their focus to the postseason.
After a bye week from competing, The Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships will be hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Md., on Saturday Mar. 1-Sunday Mar. 2.
